General Manager

  • Australia (remote position – working from home)
  • Full-time

Role:
You will work directly with the Directors whilst focusing on the day to day running of the team to ensure productivity and profitability are top of mind, whilst enforcing quality control checks and monitoring team efficiency. You will drive the team to have fresh and dynamic ideas that are strategic and results-focused.

The role is also client facing so you’ll need to build senior relationships with clients via email, instant messaging and video conference calls, and contribute to new business pitches too. As the market segment which we are operating in is experiencing a significantly high growth rate, the successful General Manager will be required to have a strong management background to identify emerging opportunities and drive the business forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Development to capture the exponential growth opportunities.
  • Lead and manage the creative and client services team members.
  • You will lead the agency in delivering a successful full-service offering across strategy, media planning, digital, social media, PR and creative communications.
  • Lead, inspire and motivate teams to understand and ‘live’ company values and to deliver commercial goals and ambition.
  • Prepare and implement annual business plans and budgets.
  • Oversee the management of all business operations and functions to ensure the achievement of business plans and budgets.
  • Prepare reports and forecasts for the Directors as required.
  • Collaborate, cooperate, and proactively contribute to ensure the annual business plan and budget is achieved.
  • Communicate performance expectations and support the team by building required competencies, providing feedback, managing behaviours and performance gaps.
  • Monitor individual & team performance and workload, address learning, development needs, and performance issues.
  • Actively participate in the Annual Performance Review process.
  • Implement and oversee quality control checks for all content and assets created by our team, in preparation for client approval.

Qualifications/Skills

  • You must possess a background that is creative and preferably have experience in working for a digital, design, brand or advertising agency.
  • Proven experience in driving successful teams including managing team morale.
  • Proven sales management experience.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Strong knowledge of business practices and methodologies.
  • Self starter, autonomous, reliable.
  • Comfortable working with systems such as Google Workspace, CRM & Email
  • Marketing systems such as Klaviyo, Online Course platforms, Slack, Shopify, WordPress, etc are all beneficial.

Additional Information
The perfect candidate should have:

  • 2-3 years minimum experience as a Manager of a team
  • The ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong digital background with proven abilities
  • Ability to lead and develop the team’s digital space in executing strategy
  • Work well and effectively with clients, team members and other partners
  • A people-person who is empathetic, instinctive and a good listener
  • Strong communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads
  • Organised and proactive working style
  • Team player
  • Innovation skills and a give-it-a-go approach
